“Krav Maga – Real World Solutions to Real World Violence” (Tuttle Publishing) was the first Krav Maga book to be produced using full color photographs. The techniques and solutions in it were demonstrated and captured being performed at full speed, rather than in a static/posed fashion. They were also shown in real-life settings such as in bars/pubs at ATM’s, on the street and in other public settings (something which was replicated in Gershon Ben Keren’s subsequent books on Krav Maga. The focus of the book was on premeditated incidents of violence such a muggings, robberies and abductions, which had a level of planning and/or orchestration to them. When first published it immediately became an Amazon Best Seller and resulted in Gershon Ben Keren to be invited to conduct a Google Author Talk.

Krav Maga Tactical Survival: Personal Safety In Action
“Krav Maga – Tactical Survival” (Tuttle Publishing) looked primarily at social violence, which involves spontaneous incidents of violence which occur when everyday social interactions take a turn for the worse e.g., you cut somebody off in a line/queue, something you do frustrates another person and/or is perceived as disrespectful etc. Such acts of aggression and violence are the result of “external” rather than “internal” factors e.g., the individual didn’t come to the situation/interaction with the intent of becoming violent, but some event/incident has occurred which has resulted in them reacting this way. As well as providing physical solutions and techniques, it also presents a method of de-escalation (one that Gershon Ben Keren teaches at his school a few miles south of Wilmington).

Krav Maga Extreme Survival: Active Shooter, Carjacking & Home Invasion
“Krav Maga – Extreme Survival” (Tuttle Publishing) loos at three types of violence whilst although not common from a risk/probability perspective have potentially large/high consequences. One part of the book looks at active shooter and active killer scenarios. This involved a study of over 140 incidents, along with a systematic review of research conducted on these types of incidents, with the result being a framework of concepts that can be used to successfully employ a variety of strategies and solutions when experiencing them. Many of the physical solutions presented around this subject were those that had been organically developed in Israel during the first intifada, where active shooters and killers were employed by various terrorist groups; strategies which have since been formalized and adopted by US agencies. The other two areas of extreme violence that the book deals with are home invasions and car-jackings.

Gershon Ben Keren Google Author Talks
In 2015 Gershon was asked to do a Google Author Talk concerning his first book, "Krav Maga - Real World Solutions to Real World Violence". In 2017 was invited back, to present on his second book, "Krav Maga - Tactical Survival". He is one of only a handful of authors who have been invited back to do a second talk.
